In an earlier project, I collected information about all study programmes in the Netherlands from the website www.kiesjestudies.nl by creating a spider with Python’s Scrapy library. After cleaning the data, I decided to focus on the IT-related study programmes and created a dashboard to further explore the data and summarize the most important metrics: the level of education (HBO/WO), the scores of each study programme, the university size and the location.

Tableau seemed to be the most efficient tool to summarize all the information in an interactive way. After creating the charts separately, I could link them together in a dashboard and take advantage of Tableau’s highlighting and filtering capabilities.
